Congregational Life

GameNight4web

BMPC is a vibrant, active, creative and sometimes wonderfully chaotic faith community. The relationships we build with one another sustain us. We play together, study together, and work in God’s world together. Part of our vision is to be a community in which the generations get to know and value each other. There are many ways to get involved here at BMPC, from joining in worship on Sunday mornings and participating in Sunday School to Thursday Night Live fellowship events, the Prophets of Praise, the Chancel Choir, Logos on Wednesdays, and more. Find out what is happening in the life of this congregation by visiting the calendar, checking out the latest newsletter, or calling the church office (828 669 2725). We promise you — something will be going on!

Presbyterian Women

PWsymbolThe Presbyterian Women at BMPC is a fellowship of women in the Church whose activities are a reflection of our commitment to Christ. The PW purpose is as follows:
• To nurture our faith through prayer and Bible study
• To support the mission of the church worldwide
• To work for justice and peace
• To build an inclusive, caring community of women that strengthens the
Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and witnesses to the promise of God’s Kingdom

More about Presbyterian Women

Men’s Group

The Black Mountain Presbyterian Church Men’s Group was established in response to one of our Session’s 2012 Christian Education goals. The group meets on the second Thursday of each month at 6 p.m. for dinner at a member’s house or other locations. We enjoy devotions and fellowship together with a topic for discussion although many other topics may also come up. We have cleaned the Church House to get ready for Room In the Inn and we have visited and toured the Black Mountain Children’s Home.

The Columbarium

DSCN0352The Columbarium at Black Mountain Presbyterian Church was begun as a part of our most recent building addition in 1993. The Session decreed that the Columbarium could not be a “moneymaking” operation of the Church. The committee reports to the Session via the Property Ministry Team.

Presently the Columbarium is comprised of three Niche Units ( A, B, and C) with a total of 224 Niches, and one Plaque Unit (P) with 56 Plaques. As of November 1, 2012, there is one Niche each in Units B and C that are not subscribed and only 15 of 80 in Unit A that are subscribed. Plaque Unit P has 45 of 56 spaces subscribed. There is room for expansion. Niche units B and C, $200 per niche; Niche unit A, $400 per niche, Plaque unit P, $100 per space. Niche units A, B, and C are for the storage of cremains. Plaque unit P is for those who are interred elsewhere but wish to be remembered at Black Mountain Presbyterian Church.

For more information, please contact the custodian through the church office.
