Concerts and Special Events

Black Mountain Presbyterian is pleased to present a variety of special events for our congregation and community. In recent years we have presented the PresbyBop Jazz Quartet in concert, the Choir from Maryville College (TN) and Donna Marie Todd with Will Straughan. In addition we sponsored a Shrove Tuesday Coffee House at White Horse Black Mountain as a benefit for Ministry of Hope (orphanage in Lesotho) and the Prophets of Praise presented a concert

at West Asheville Presbyterian Church as a benefit for Asheville Habitat for Humanity. In 2013 we are presenting a masterclass for trumpet players in our congregation led by Chris Imhoff and Resurrection Dance Theater of Haiti presenting its Rhythms of the Heart tour. Our church’s location in Western North Carolina makes it a highly desirable tour stop for traveling groups. BMPCNC usually hosts one or two concert events each year. We get many more requests than we can accommodate. See our statement regarding how we evaluate a group requesting permission to appear here. These concerts and special events are in addition to those presented in a more traditional format: children’s organ concerts for Halloween and Christmas, Good Friday organ concert of sacred music, Service of Remembrance at All Saints, winter hymn festival and special music during Sunday morning worship.
