Mission and Outreach Opportunities

Red Cross Blood Drive

Sign-up now to give the gift of life! Did you know that one blood donation can help up to three people? This event takes place in the Fellowship Hall of the church with appointment times from 1:30-6:00pm.

With a short visit to the church, Sam Webber can get you approved to drive the bus.

Bus Drivers Needed

Volunteers are needed to drive the church bus to Highland Farms on Sunday mornings and pick up those who can no longer drive themselves or who feel more comfortable riding the bus than driving.

Blessing Box

When we celebrate the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper we ask the question, “Has everyone been fed?” It’s not just a rhetorical question. We mean it!

Our congregation shares food, time, and money with Swannanoa Valley Christian Ministries, Bounty & Soul, Manna Food Bank, Rise Against Hunger, the Summer Nutrition Program, Second Loaf, and the Blessing Box. These words extend the message on the sidewalk.

Take what you need. Give what you can. May God bless you!

As we reach into the community, we hope all will feel welcomed with our warmth, efforts, and the love of Christ.

Consider signing up to manage the Blessing Box for a week.

CAN IN EACH HAND is a great way to help our community get enough to eat, especially in these COVID times

CAN IN EACH HAND is a great way to help our community get enough to eat.

Can in Each hand

There is a consistent need for canned beans of all varieties (black, red kidney, pork and beans, etc.) and flour and sugar. Next time you’re shopping for your dinner, consider buying a little extra, bring it to the church and leave it in our ‘Kindness Corner’ in the narthex. From there, it will be picked up and delivered to SVCM for distribution. Let your friends and neighbors know they can help too. We can offer to pick up cans to bring to the church from those unable or unwilling to venture out. A little bit helps a lot!
